Originally born in New York at the Astoria Hotel bar, the Old Fashioned is a simple, yet smooth and delicious recipe that combines a pour of whiskey or bourbon with a dash of sugar syrup, a few drops of bitters, and some citrus oil.

2 1/2 oz. Whiskey
1/4 oz. Simple Syrup
3 Dashes Angostura Bitters
Orange Peel

Put orange peel, syrup, and bitters in mixing glass and muddle lightly. Add ice and whiskey and stir. Strain into old fashioned glass over ice.
